I have a Verizon dsl connection, with an AT&T dialup account for
backup. After reinstalling W2K, I find that I frequently have to
dismiss the dialup dialog box that pops up in the middle of my
screen.

Obviously it's doing that in response to something going on
internally, but I'll be cursed if I can figure out why or, more
importantly, how to get it to stop. "Help", as per usual, isn't
helpful.

Any insights greatly appreciated.
